Traditionally, the bell on the roof of the FARB is rung on 24 June each year on St John's Day. This is a call to the neighbourhood to come together and discuss the most important matters of the past year. St John's Day was a special feast day in the Catholic Church until the 19th century and the neighbourhood sheep groups are still strong and traditional communities in the district town today. For the neighbourhood Commende Heilig-Geist-Straße, this tradition is maintained in cooperation with the Borken local history association and the FARB. The event is not open to the public. The ringing can be observed from the market square.
