The Luise Hensel Garden House is the last of its kind in the city.

The garden house, built in 1747, is not only the last of its kind in the city, but is also closely associated with Luise Hensel (1798 - 1876), the poetess of the well-known evening song "Müde bin ich geh zur Ruh". Hensel spent the last years of her life in Paderborn's Westphalenhof, which today houses a retirement home. In the garden house, the poet enjoyed resting her mind and her work.

Direction

By car:
Take the A 33 freeway to the Pad.-Zentrum or Pad.-Schloß Neuhaus exit; then head towards Paderborn city center. Stay on the inner ring road (Innenstadtring) in the direction of Gierstor and turn into Driburger Straße. After approx. 200 meters you will see the garden house on the left.

Parking is available at the Ostfriedhof parking lot.
By public transportation:
Take the city bus lines 7, 12 (PaderSprinter) to the "Ostfriedhof" stop.
