Information for cyclists
Small nature reserves and natural areas as well as the foothills of the Teutoburg Forest characterise the landscape around Mettingen. Due to the gentle hills, a cycle tour can sometimes be more demanding, but cyclists are rewarded with beautiful views. Cycle tours to Tecklenburg or Hörstel to the Gravenhorst Monastery and the Nassen Dreieck are worthwhile. Those who, like the Tüötten, would like to travel beyond the "borders" have perfect opportunities to explore the southern Emsland or the Osnabrück region from Mettingen.

The entrance to the Münsterland cycle path network, which is approx. 4500 kilometres long, is located directly at the Schultenhof and the Post Museum.

Arrival
The Postal Museum is located in the Schultenhof in the centre of Mettingen. St. Agatha's Church and the market square are in the immediate vicinity.
How to get there by car:
Via the A30, exit Ibbenbüren, then follow the signs to Mettingen.
Via the A1, exit Osnabrück Hafen, then follow the signs via Westerkappeln to Mettingen.
Travelling by train:
If you are travelling by train, it is best to get off at Ibbenbüren-Laggenbeck. From Ibbenbüren railway station and from various bus stops in Laggenbeck there are numerous bus routes to Mettingen.
Parking
A large public car park is located near St. Agatha's Church. There are further parking facilities around the Schultenhof.
