Tourist attractions – various

The 12-metre-high Holkensturm takes its name from the town commander Holkens. He was sent to Borken for eight years by the then sovereign, the Bishop of Münster, because the citizens did not obey their sovereign. During this time, he was in charge of the town and lived in this town tower. After various changes of ownership, this tower is once again the property of the town.

Tour information

The Holkensturm can only be visited from the outside.

The neighbouring Netherlands can be discovered on smuggler's trails. There is plenty to see and do on the various cycle and theme routes.
The Holkensturm is close to the cycle route network. The next junction with the number 61 can be found in the Borken city park.
