Information for cyclists
Borken is a wonderful travel or excursion destination especially for cyclists, because the flat cycle paths lead in all directions around Borken. Numerous cycle paths are waiting to be ridden. There is a lot to discover on them, whether on old smugglers' paths towards the Dutch border or on a cycle tour on one of the themed routes.
Various themed cycle routes offer interesting cycling tours through the Münsterland region. The signposted themed cycle routes each show very special contents of the region and thus tell exciting stories about Münsterland. The following themed route leads through the beautiful landscape of Borken:
Flamingo Route.
Of course, the city centre of Borken is also connected to the cycle path network. The next junction with the number 61 is in the Borken city park.

Getting to the city centre
By car:
Borken city centre is easy to reach by car via the A31 (Oberhausen-Emden, exit Borken, then approx. 15 min. drive).
By bus/train:
Borken is located on the Essen-Bottrop-Dorsten-Borken railway line and is the terminus of the R14.
Borken station is about 1km from the town centre.
Take the R21, R51 or R74 bus from the station and get off at the "Wilbecke" stop.
Parking in the city centre
There are numerous public parking spaces in Borken city centre and there is also a multi-storey car park on the street "Am Boltenhof". If you want larger parking spaces, you will find them at De-Wynen-Platz (Brinkstraße 9B, 46325 Borken) or at Kapitelshaus (Remigiusstraße 20, 46325 Borken).
There is a charge for parking on weekdays between 10:00 and 16:00.
