The picturesque valley to the east of the Steinberg is called "Schwalle". Why? Find out on the guided hike.
The valley was formed by the small river "Aa", which means nothing other than "water". On the way there, you have a beautiful view of the picturesque village of Alhausen, the birthplace of the poet Friedrich Wilhelm Weber, and the Emder Höhe. After a few "detours", the route then leads up the Steinberg to the Waldcafé Jäger, where you are rewarded with a wonderful panoramic view over Bad Driburg. From there, the way back is only short and, fortunately, only downhill.
