Hiking

At 18 km, the Sachsenring is the longest circular hiking trail in Bad Driburg. In the southern section, you hike along the Iburg ruins.

You have to hike a little way out of the town to reach the southern part of the "Sachsenring" circular hiking trail. However, you are far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the town and can enjoy your first panoramic view of Bad Driburg above the former "Uhlenmühle" mill; a completely new perspective. The trail continues through the cozy beech forests via the former "Gypsy Square", the Trappistenhof, a former monastery, towards Iburg. The stop at the Sachsenklause and the unique second panoramic view from there must first be earned, however, with an admittedly somewhat steep climb. In return, the path back down into the valley is sloping and, above all, shorter.

Walk distance: 8-10 km
Walk duration: approx. 3 hours
Costs: €3 with spa card / €4 without spa card
Meeting point: Hiking information point at the level crossing (Lange Str. 140)
