A guided hike over the Escherberg awaits you. The ridge of the Escherberg stretches over 3 km from north to south.
Nomen est omen. Yes, of course, it's uphill, just as the stagecoaches used to travel from (Bad) Driburg to Brakel, i.e. eastwards through the Schwalle and then towards Emder Höhe. However, you are guaranteed wonderful views: e.g. of the idyllically situated Alhausen and the Steinberg, you can even see the Iburgberg on the way. The rest of the route is less steep, following the railroad line to the "Josefsmühle", where you can take a break and recover from your exertions. There is also a cozy beer garden there. The way back to Bad Driburg is then just a stone's throw away.
