Museum Railway Rahden - Uchte | Scheduled Travel Days 2025
The reopening of the line in 2025 heralds an exciting new start after a long break due to the coronavirus pandemic and a subsequent closure of the line.
The history of the museum railroad between Rahden and Uchte begins in 1991, when the "Rahden Group" of the Minden Museum Railway began operating. In 2003, the Museums-Eisenbahn Rahden-Uchte e.V. (MRU) association was formed to preserve the historic railroad line between Rahden and Uchte and revive it with ancient rail vehicles. This initiative brings the past into the present in a unique way.
In total, the line between Rahden and Uchte is 25 km long. Unfortunately, only the 9 km between Rahden and Lavelsloh can currently
be used. Other sections are to be gradually put back into operation.
Dates 1st half of 2025:
Thu, 29.5: (Ascension Day): Start of the season and reopening
Sat, 21.6: Saturday rides
Sun, 29.6.: Cuddly toy rides (children with a cuddly toy ride for free)
It will be exciting to see when new sections are reopened for passenger services. The vision is clear: full operation on the entire route should be realized soon and thus offer an incomparable experience.
To stay up to date, it is worth visiting the association's website or contacting them directly to be informed about the current status.
