Trip/excursion Hiking

Learn about well-known and rare medicinal and toxic plants during a tour.

Kirchweiler Rohr is a haven for rare animals and plants, surrounded by the remnants of its volcanic past. The landscape is characterized by species-rich wet meadows, old orchards, and tall herbs by babbling brooks in extensive sedge marshes. It is a place for discovery and relaxation. What is blooming there? Which plants are edible? Are there also poisonous plants? What are the effects of the herbs, shrubs, and trees? Why are wet meadows and reed beds so important, and what makes them special? If you want to learn more about this unique nature reserve, I will be happy to explain these and other questions during the approximately 5 km circular hike. (Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear, and bring a light backpack with provisions)
