Symphony concert in the Thomaskirche Espelkamp
with the Lübbecke Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Heinz-Hermann Grube. The evening's soloist is Mariela Rodriguez (horn).
Neues Theater: The program includes works by Richard Strauss (Concerto for Horn and Orchestra No. 1) and Symphony No. 8 (the "English") by Antonin Dvořák. Mariela Rodriguez was born in Santa Fe (Argentina). She began playing the horn at the age of 10 under the guidance of her uncle. After completing her studies, she became a solo horn player with major national orchestras in Chile and Argentina. In 2017, she represented her home country in the newly founded orchestra "Ensemble Latinoamericano", which consists of professional musicians from all over Latin America and is based in Uruguay. She moved to Germany in 2019 and has since worked as a freelance musician throughout Europe. In Espelkamp, Mariela Rodriguez will play the first horn concerto in F minor by Richard Strauss, one of the most famous works for horn and orchestra.
