Every 3rd Saturday from May to September: Guided tour through 5 million years of geological history


The Teutoburg Forest Interest Group (Ig Teuto) and the TERRA.vita Nature and Geopark regularly offer guided tours through the Dyckerhoff quarry in Lengerich. The 4 km long route with an elevation gain of 100 metres leads through geological eras and offers magnificent views. Fossil collectors also get their money's worth.


Meeting point: 2 p.m., circular hiking trail car park on Lienener Straße (between Dyckerhoff cement works and Protestant church)

Sturdy footwear required, hike approx. 4 hours, moderately difficult terrain

Children must be accompanied by an adult

If you want to collect fossils, you should bring a hammer and rucksack

Own protective equipment (helmet, waistcoat, gloves) recommended

Bring sufficient food and drink
