Discover the diverse habitats around the Clarholz district, which are home to numerous animal species. This free offer gives you the opportunity to explore the region in the company of DWV-certified hiking guides.
+++Start of registration: 17.03.2025+++
The route leads through a varied landscape with forests, bodies of water and open fields. The field landscape is particularly exciting, where, with a bit of luck, the brown hare can be spotted. Its excellent camouflage often makes it invisible, but with binoculars, the chances of spotting it hopping or grazing increase. The tour also passes the impressive oak avenue at the monastery, the monastery moats with water birds and the Axtbach - a 34 km long tributary of the Ems, which is home to carp, tench, pike and even freshwater mussels. Binoculars and sitting materials are recommended for observing the animals.
If you like, you can stop off at the nearby Laurentius ice cream parlor afterwards.
