To mark next year's planned special exhibition "Unbelievable! Spiritual Experiences with the Supernatural" planned for next year, the RELíGIO Museum has teamed up with Tourismus + Kul-tur Telgte and invited the well-known journalist, author and Vatican expert Andreas Englisch to Telgte.
Andreas Englisch is one of the best-informed journalists in the Vatican. He can be seen and heard again and again on talk shows or as an interview partner when he talks about popes and their work. His books have been translated into numerous languages and are bestsellers, including "Francis - Signs of Hope" and "My Rome. The Secrets of the Eternal City".
In his latest work, Andreas Englisch, an expert on Italy, follows in the footsteps of ancient pilgrimage routes to the Holy City. He tells the gripping story of the history of northern Italy and makes detours to the most important cultural highlights as well as little-known insider tips.
Whether pilgrims or looters, emperors or mendicants, whether in search of power, wealth, redemption or love - people have been drawn to Rome for thousands of years. English tells the story of these people and of a fast-paced journey that brings him together with an unusual companion: On the way from Merano in South Tyrol via Lake Garda, Verona and Tuscany to Rome, the place of longing for all pilgrims, there are a number of puzzles to solve and clues to decipher. "All roads lead to Rome" is a lively scavenger hunt through the culture and history of Italy and at the same time a declaration of love for the country that has inspired Andreas Englisch for almost four decades.
