The former British military site in Herford, Hammersmith Barracks, is opening its doors to the public for the last time. Before the site is transformed into a modern residential quarter, there is now a unique opportunity to experience this historic site in its original state.

Explore the old horse stables, marvel at the indoor riding arena and wander through the former British army blocks - a historical panorama awaits you. This guided tour offers you a deep insight into the diverse history of Herford.
Meeting point is the old clock tower on Jacques-Delors-Straße. Our trained city guides will accompany you around the site and give you exciting insights into Herford's history. Please note that the tour is not possible for people with disabilities, as the area is not handicapped accessible. Participation is at your own risk. Pro Herford GmbH Stadtmarketing accepts no liability for accidents or injuries. A disclaimer must be signed on site. Participants under the age of 18 may only enter the site if accompanied by their parents or a legal guardian. Animals are not permitted on the grounds.
