The travelling exhibition tells the impressive life story of the Dutch Jewish woman Roosje Glaser, who survived the Holocaust and seven concentration camps, including Auschwitz, thanks to her dancing and unshakeable optimism. Although she initially had no political interest, she was betrayed by her ex-husband and deported. In Auschwitz, she wrote poems and even sang and danced at SS events. After the war, she lived in Sweden and died there in 2000.
Decades later, her Catholic nephew Paul Glaser accidentally discovered his Jewish origins and the fate of his family. Through research and contact with his aunt Roosje, he uncovered the suppressed family history. After her death, he publishes her life story under the title "The Dancer of Auschwitz".
