Zollmuseum Friedrichs

The Zollmuseum Aachen, the city’s toll museum, covers European border history and its tolls.

The history of tolls and their development, from source of income to protection of the local economy, is displayed with around 3,000 exhibits. They include documents relating to the “Sündige Grenze” crime thriller film of the 1950s.
The museum also shows forbidden souvenirs, such as stuffed bears, crocodile-skin bags, ivory, snakeskin and brand piracy products.
