The Westpark in Aachen is a space for picnics and barbecues in green surroundings.
The Westpark has been used for various different functions in the past. At the turn of the century in around 1900, it was a zoo, while during the First World War, it was a place of recuperation for soldiers, as well as being a pond and animal park. Today, the Westpark is popular with Aacheners of all ages. With its different sports and playground facilities, it’s a place to enjoy the outdoors, for adults and children alike. As a special feature, the Westpark is one of the few parks where barbecuing is permitted in authorised areas, making it a popular meeting place for families and students.
