Dutch windmill Bierde

This so-called "Wall-Holländer" dates back to 1802 and was still used for wheat and rye until 1951. Its wooden octagonal half-timbered tower rises on a mound of earth and is boarded and shingled. Around 1900, the "Steert" was replaced by a wind rose system and the old sails were replaced by louvre blades.
