Architecture and individual furnishings
The Greftmühle rampart was built from coarse sandstone and sits majestically on a high earth embankment. What makes the Greftmühle special is its comfortable and individual furnishings. Even when it was built, it was not just a functional mill, but also a place with character and style. The worked ceiling beams are a testament to the craftsmanship of the time and lend the mill a special charm.
There is a stone slab on the Greftmühle's earth wall depicting a Dutch mill with a stert. This interesting depiction bears witness to the tradition and historical value of the mill. Over time, however, the original stert was replaced by a nine-bladed wind rose, which can now be admired in its original state following careful restoration. This wind rose is the only one of its kind in the entire mill district and makes the Greftmühle a unique attraction for tourists and mill enthusiasts.
