Historic town centre Structure/Modern architecture

It is one of the impressive former court official houses in Rietberg. In the 18th century, the "Rath und Secretarius Johann Conrad Pelizäus" lived here. Members of the Pelizäus family held numerous judicial and administrative offices in the Emsstadt in the 18th and 19th centuries. The count's official Johann von Affelen had already lived in the house around 1644. The building, erected around 1620 with symmetrically arranged "Utluchten", has an elegant entrance area with Ionic pilasters and a segmental gable, which was not built until around 1780.
