Six works of art made of oak wood and steel, which were created as part of the 1st Dahl Sculpture Symposium in September 2018, are on display on the approximately 700-meter-long Dahl Sculpture Trail.

In September 2018, the Dahl sculpture trail was opened on the Eggeringhäuser Weg. Six works of art made of oak wood or a combination of oak wood, steel or stone, which were created by the artists as part of the 1st Dahl Sculpture Symposium from mighty trunks using chainsaws, planes and chisels, stand along the edge of the path. The aim of the artistic aspect was to explore the relationship between "art and the cultural landscape as well as people and the forest habitat".

Artists involved:

  • Edvardas Racevicius with the sculpture "OT"
  • Dagmar Fischer with the sculpture "Baumklänge"
  • Jürgen Schubbe with the sculpture "Peaky Blinders"
  • Werner Schlegel with the sculpture "Menschenbaum IV"
  • Josef Risse with the sculpture "DrehS"
  • Matthias Heß with the sculpture "Todholz"

The location marker on the map indicates the start of the 700-metre-long Dahler Sculpture Trail. This is also where the small parking lot is located.

An exciting geocache "Karstrundweg - Kunst im Dahler Wald" with the ID GC7WD7V has also been set up on the Dahl sculpture trail. Further information: www.geocaching.com
