Weser Renaissance castle with small castle church

The Weser Renaissance castle with its Protestant church is located on the edge of the Weser floodplain and looks back on a long history. First mentioned as a castle in 1188, it was converted into a palace at the end of the 16th century by Count Simon VI zu Lippe, making it one of the most important buildings of the Weser Renaissance. The former aristocratic residence was the headquarters of the UFA Universum film company after the Second World War and today houses a boarding school with a private secondary school. (Courtyard tour possible) The castle church has a pulpit from 1681 and an organ from 1748.
