In the DASA exhibition, visitors immerse themselves in the working worlds of yesterday and tomorrow.
"DASA Arbeitswelt Ausstellung" in Dortmund
At the DASA Arbeitswelt Ausstellung in Dortmund, participation and trying things out are writ large. In the exhibition you can experience the working worlds of yesterday, today and tomorrow with all your senses under the motto "Experience: Man // Work // Technology". Self is the woman and the man - have you ever held a dentist's drill in your hand? Or sat in a cockpit? That's possible here in Dortmund. Workplaces from various sectors have been recreated for you and made accessible.
What's in store for tomorrow?
A new highlight is the almost 800-square-metre exhibition area "New Working Worlds", which deals with the theme of the future. It shows you the world of the possible and interweaves the real, i.e. real objects, with fictions and emotions, with media and people. You wander through centuries of history about visions of the future or encounter megatrends such as globalisation, demography and digitalisation. You will experience lots of smart technology and can even create your own avatar. In addition, you can become part of the Future Exchange and thus actively shape the exhibition.
Interactive for everyone
A central theme of the interactive experience exhibition is the representation of central human values such as integrity, dignity, health or participation in social life in relation to daily working life. The exhibition is exciting and informative at the same time and therefore a popular destination for school classes. But even if you are travelling with children, the DASA in Dortmund is worth a visit, because in addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum regularly shows temporary exhibitions on a wide variety of topics.
Nearby
The DASA World of Work Exhibition was opened in 1993 as part of the world exhibition "Expo 2000" on an exhibition area of 13,000 square metres in Dortmund Dorstfeld. It was built very close to the Technical University of Dortmund, well situated on the A40 motorway and not far from Dortmund city centre. You can combine your visit to the DASA with a shopping trip through the Kreuzviertel district or a visit to the German Football Museum. If you are interested in art and culture, take a look at the Dortmunder U, the centre for art and creativity.
