Fortress/Castle

Castle in the middle of a baroque garden

The 13th-century manor house, now Möhler Castle, is located in the former farming community of Menninghausen in the parish of Oelde, and today only the main house of the former two-winged baroque building remains. Over the centuries, Möhler House has frequently changed hands. The Dülmen Duke of Croy owned the Möhler estate until the 1980s.

As the castle is now used for commercial purposes, it s not open to the public.

However, a trip to Möhler is always worthwhile. The people of Möhler don't just look after "their" castle. In recent years in particular, a distinct village life has developed.

Together, trees have been planted along roads and paths, bus shelters have been renovated and village community activities have been developed.
