    The old market: the lively center of Herford's old town!

    The Old Market was once the town's most important trading center    Until 1878, the originally Gothic Old Town Hall, which was extended with Renaissance elements in the 16th century, stood here.
    The Old Market was therefore already the town center when Herford was a member of the Westphalian Hanseatic League.
