    The Old Market: The lively center of Herford's old town!

    The Old Market was once the town's most important trading center. The Old Town Hall, originally Gothic and extended with Renaissance elements in the 16th century, stood here until 1878.
    The Alter Markt was therefore already the town center when Herford was a member of the Westphalian Hanseatic League.
