The free thinker, who revolutionised medicine and science, was not only a creative mind, Nobel Prize winner and inventor of X-rays, but also a citizen of Lennep. 

Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen was born in Lennep in 1845 as the only child of a family of cloth-makers in a building just a stone’s throw from the museum. By visiting the true-to-life themed family museum, you can follow in his footsteps and also dabble in a spot of research.
