Park/gardens

The SinnesWald is an idyllic park with interesting sculptures in Leichlingen's Murbachtal valley.

In the idyllically situated Leichlinger Murbachtal valley, far from the noise of traffic, the initiators Wicze Braun and Wolfgang Brudes created a nature museum on the grounds of a historic spinning mill. Mainly local artists present their sculptures here.

Since 1993, exhibitions have been held here every year with different themes and, increasingly, other cultural events too.

Around an old mill pond, along winding paths through quarries, into the forest and along the little stream, works of art by over 50 artists can be discovered; fantastic creations made of wood, stone and metal etc.

The sculptures reflect the location of this special place, inviting you down unusual walks and offering a surprising experience of art and nature. The basic idea is to address all of the senses.

Anyone who feels like it can write down their impressions and leave them in the letterbox at the entrance.

Entry is free but donations toward the site’s upkeep are welcome, which is why there is a “thank you stone” at the weir.

Sturdy footwear is recommended!
