Vantage point/Observation tower Monument

The classic among Wuppertal’s many towers | Bismarck Tower

When it was still customary to erect a monument to the emperor or Otto von Bismarck, the then-independent towns of Elberfeld and Barmen also followed suit. It was an unusual step for the towns to lay the foundation stone for the tower, which still stands today, together on their border and at the highest point in the Hardt.

The tower is also open to visitors now and then. If the weather is kind to you, you will have a fantastic view over the town from the top of the 22-metre-high tower.
