The museum, which opened in 2004, centres on the music of rock and pop history. The exhibition combines experience with information and sensory experience with interaction. Sound corridors and media installations allow visitors to experience the music directly. The museum also provides detailed background information on 100 years of rock and pop history.

The museum is open during the specified opening hours. The museum is not open on 24 December and 25 December as well as on 31 December and 1 January.

  • Every first Friday of the month the museum is open until 10 pm.
  • Numerous events and concerts take place regularly at the Turbine music club.

Arrival
Arrival by car:
The rock'n'popmuseum in Gronau can be reached by car via the A31 (Oberhausen-Emden) and the B54. The city centre and the Inselpark site are signposted.
Arrival by train:
Arrival by train is via Gronau (Westf.) station. Gronau is regularly served by trains from Enschede, Münster and Dortmund. From here it is only a few minutes' walk to the museum.
Parking
For those arriving by car, there is a large car park near the rock'n'popmuseum. The car park is free of charge.
