Open-air theatre

Freilichtspiele Tecklenburg - the open-air theatre with Germany's largest open-air music theatre. The open-air theatre is embedded in a castle complex and is always a special experience thanks to its interplay of nature, architecture and art. There is room for more than 2300 people in the large auditorium, around 1800 of these seats are roofed. From there, the guests enjoy the view of an oversized stage in front of a historical backdrop. This makes Tecklenburg the largest open-air theatre in Germany.

Plays, operas and operettas have been performed there since 1924. In the meantime, the Tecklenburg open-air theatre also uses this atmosphere for its lavish musical performances as well as for other musical events, delighting almost 100,000 guests from all over Germany every year.
