Open-air theatre

The open-air stage is located on the outskirts of Reckenfeld in a quiet piece of woodland. But in summer, the Waldbühne comes to life and captivates all visitors. From comedy to tragedy - the amateur actors show their skills in breathtaking plays every summer. In addition to the spectacular evening plays, the members of the open-air stage also regularly present exciting family plays.

History

The amateur drama group performed the play"The Forest House" in 1947. The following year, Puss in Boots was to be performed. However, the stage was too small for this and so the idea of an open-air stage was born. Since then, further performances have followed every year.

The first open-air stage was opened in 1953 at the "Marienfeld" house. In 1961, the stage moved to Hof Leißing, where it is still located today.
In 1976, the "Münsterländische Freilichtbühne Greven-Reckenfeld e.V." was officially founded. 21 years later, the association was able to acquire the site as its own property. In 2011, the redesign of the guest entrance and the construction of the new office were completed.
