Tourist attractions – various Museum/Exhibition

At Ahaus Castle

School days: some associate them with a pleasant time, for others it is more a time to forget. But there are things that no one forgets from their school days. Almost everyone knows what their classroom looked like and the sound of chalk scratching on the blackboard. Or how the desks and benches felt. Visitors to the Ahaus School Museum can relive all these memories or rediscover them by taking a look at the school of 50 years ago.

Tour information

Directly at Ahaus Castle, the small museum offers a beautiful insight into school days long gone. Former school director Winfried Bergen has lovingly put together an exhibition of school utensils from the 19th and 20th centuries. Leather knapsacks and school desks are on display, as are inkwells and school desks. Guests can take a seat on one of the benches, soak up the atmosphere and remember their own childhood. And young visitors can compare learning in the school museum with learning today.

Guided tours are offered free of charge during and outside opening hours. Registration is necessary.
