In the historic town hall

On 15 May 1648, the Spanish-Dutch Peace was concluded in the Peace Hall. Today, the Peace Hall in Münster City Hall has masterpieces of carving and portraits of the sovereigns and envoys who came to Münster for the Spanish-Dutch Peace Treaty.

History information

The historic hall owes its name to the Spanish-Dutch Peace concluded in it on 15 May 1648. Originally, the Friedenssaal served as the council chamber, its wooden Renaissance panelling dating from around 1477. The Peace Hall is located in Münster's town hall.

Tour information

Viewing is possible during the week from Tuesday to Friday and on weekends and public holidays. Due to events and receptions, there may be changes on some days.

Guided tours of the Friedenssaal are only possible as part of the guided tours of Stadt Lupe Münster e.V., StattReisen Münster e.V. and K3 Stadtführungen.
