The bell museum in Gescher takes its guests on a journey through time, through the history of bells and the development of the bell-founding trade. Visitors can learn more about the musical instrument and the craft in 20 different themed areas. Numerous stations encourage visitors to participate, so that the collection can be experienced in many different ways. With this extensive offer, the bell museum in Gescher is unique in northern Germany.

Tour information

The Bell Museum is open all year round from Tuesdays to Sundays from 10 am to 5 pm. A visit to the museum can be combined with various guided tours, themed tours and seminars.

Guided tours can be booked in advance at froning@gescher.de / a.schroer@gescher.de or by telephone on +49 (0)2542 7144. If you book in advance, it is also possible to visit the museum outside the opening hours. Opening hours may vary on public holidays.

Information for cyclists
Numerous themed cycle routes offer interesting cycling tours through Münsterland. The signposted themed cycle routes each show special contents of the region and thus tell exciting stories about Münsterland. The Westphalian Bell Museum is also connected to various themed cycle routes.

The entrance to the Münsterland cycle route network, which is approximately 4,500 kilometres long, is directly in front of the museum. The flat landscape invites you to take long cycling tours without climbing metres.

Parking at the Westphalian Bell Museum
Free parking is available for cars in front of the museum on Lindenstraße and on Konrad-Adenauer-Straße.
Parking spaces for buses have been set up on Eschstraße. From there, a footpath leads across the grounds of the Museumshof to the main entrance of the Westphalian Bell Museum.
