Museum/Exhibition

Bee MuseumThe bee museum in Gescher provides information about the sweetest thing in the world. And how does honey actually get into the jar?

In the bee museum in Gescher, visitors learn all kinds of interesting facts about the sweetest thing in the world. And how does honey actually get into the jar? Visitors to the bee museum learn this and much more.

In addition to a large collection of log hives, straw hives and various types of wicker baskets, the museum also pays tribute to the old craft of beehive weaving. Regional differences between beehives as well as a comparison of modern and ancient ways of beekeeping are interesting not only for specialists. One of the most popular experiences, even for non-beekeepers, is certainly the live bee colony in the showcase of the bee museum. Behind glass - but connected to the outside world - the 10,000 museum bees build their combs, produce honey and wax or care for the brood.
