Information for cyclists
Metelen is located in the Steinfurter Land, in the middle of the Münsterland park landscape surrounded by forests, meadows and small streams. The Metelner Heide between Steinfurt and Metelen is a popular destination for cyclists.
Various themed cycle routes offer interesting cycling tours through the Münsterland. The signposted themed cycle paths each show special contents of the region and thus tell exciting stories about Münsterland. One such themed cycle route also passes the Railway Museum:

The entrance to the Münsterland cycle path network, which is around 4,500 kilometres long, is directly at the Metelen Land railway station.

The railway museum is located in the station building at Metelen Land station between Metelen and Wettringen.
Getting there by car:
The station is close to the B70 trunk road. A sign shows the way from the B70 to Metelen Land station.
There are connections to the A31 motorway (Emden - Bottrop), B54 trunk road (Gronau - Münster) and A30 motorway (Rheine - Bad Oeynhausen).
Arrival by train:
Metelen Land" railway station, railway line: Münster - Enschede.
Metelen Land railway station is also a good starting point for hiking or cycling tours to the Metelen Heath. This excursion can be excellently combined with a visit to the railway museum.

Free parking is available at Metelen Land station.
