    All-weather zoo, but why actually "all-weather"? Münster Zoo is equipped with a partially covered path network. A total of 1 kilometre of the circular path is covered, and in addition many of the animals can also be observed in the numerous animal houses. In the cold winter months, 95% of the zoo's inhabitants thus remain visible to visitors.

    Real highlights are the enclosures of the Armur tigers, Persian leopards, gorillas and orangutans. True to the zoo's motto "Encounter diversity, experience greatness", visitors to the zoo can also regularly feed the elephants or accompany spectacled penguins on a short walk through the zoo at normal times.

    The Allwetterzoo Münster is not only one of the most famous zoos in Germany, but also one of the most beautiful. When the weather can put a spanner in the works for visitors at other zoos, many animals can be observed without getting wet at the Allwetterzoo.

    Where else in Münsterland can you feed elephants or accompany penguins on a walk than at the Allwetterzoo? The zoo in the cathedral city is now even known throughout Germany for its closeness to animals. The Allwetterzoo has even more to offer than around 3,000 animals and a good 300 species. The Westphalian Horse Museum in the centre of the zoo is also unique. Demonstrations of the California sea lions take place here several times a day.

    Information for cyclists
    The Allwetter Zoo in Münster can be reached via the cycle route network. The connection to the cycle route network creates numerous opportunities for cycling tours in the surrounding area. The Historic City Centres theme route also runs close to the zoo, about 800 metres away.
    There are covered parking spaces for bicycles in front of the zoo entrance. Free e-bike charging stations are available for e-bikes.

    Parking
    At the Allwetterzoo in Münster there are around 3000 car parking spaces for which a fee is charged. The cost is 4 euros per day.
    Arrival
    You can reach the Allwetterzoo by car via the A1, A43, B51 or B54. From the Münster city limits, signs point the way to the zoo.
    If you travel by train, get off at Münster Hauptbahnhof (main station). Then take city bus line 14 to the zoo entrance. Line 14 runs every 20 minutes. It is also possible to get off at Prinzipalmarkt or Domplatz.
