Where the city walls once were, a green belt now stretches around the old town. The promenade with its double-row avenue of linden trees is car-free and an important traffic axis for everyone on foot, by bike or on inline skates.

It is a popular green zone for walkers and joggers. For cyclists, the promenade is the connection between the city centre and the surrounding network of cycle paths. Numerous sights and excursion destinations can be reached easily.

Münster is not called the "cycling capital" for nothing. Both locals and visitors enthusiastically conquer the city by bike. Large bicycle stations in the city centre make it easy to store your bike.
The "Promenade" runs around the old town. This unique cycle path not only provides quick access to all the places and sights of the old town. The promenade also offers connections to numerous interesting themed routes.

Everyone can find a suitable cycle tour on the Münsterland cycle path network, which is around 4500 kilometres long.

By bus and train to Münster:
Main railway station: Münster (Westf.)
Main hub in Münsterland, also for bus connections.
Distance from station to promenade: about 200 metres.
By car to Münster:
Coming from the south and north: A1 motorway at the Münster-Nord junction (77), then on the B54 towards Münster.
Coming from the east: Bundesstraße 51 in the direction of Münster.
Coming from the west: Follow the A43 motorway in the direction of Münster, which automatically becomes Weseler Straße and leads to Münster.
Parking
Münster has 13 P+R car parks on the access roads to the city centre. Buses run regularly from there to the centre of Münster. There are numerous paid parking spaces and multi-storey car parks in the city centre. Availability is indicated by a parking guidance system. Electric charging points are located in the car parks "Alter Steinweg", "Engelenschanze" and "Münster Arkaden".
