Park/gardens

What began in the 70s as the voluntary hobby breeding of a few established itself as a popular destination and proud jewel of the town of Seppenrade: the rose garden. With around 600 varieties, the beautiful park still shines through passionate volunteer work. Visitors can find inspiration on the 2.5-kilometre-long circular paths lined with colourful flowerbeds. Around 40 benches invite you to enjoy the colourful idyll and the view of Lüdinghausen. With seasonal plantings, each individual queen of flowers receives her deserved attention. A small fish pond with water games and a concert shell, a sandpit for children and picnic areas make for a varied stay. A visit is particularly worthwhile in the summer months, when the 24,000 or so specimens bloom and beguile with their fragrance. A large rose festival is held in August.
