Emsterrassen are located directly between the main shopping street and the River Ems and offer a magnificent view of the river. The Emsterrassen are a popular meeting place for groups and invite you to get together and recharge your batteries between shopping trips. The Emsterrassen are regularly transformed into a trendy event location. Once a year, the EmsFestival takes place here for several days. The artists perform on a floating stage in the middle of the river.

Information for cyclists
Due to its direct location on the Ems, the Emsterrassen are also a perfect stopover on a cycling tour. The seating along the river offers a nice opportunity for a picnic in between. The gastronomic offers in the city centre are varied.
Various themed cycle routes offer interesting cycling tours through the Münsterland region. The signposted themed cycle routes each show very special contents of the region and thus tell exciting stories about Münsterland. Bocholt is also connected to various themed cycle routes. The following themed cycle routes run along the Emster Terraces:

The dense network of cycle paths in Rheine offers numerous opportunities for extensive cycling tours in the region. On the 4,500 kilometre long Münsterland cycle path network, everyone will find a suitable cycle tour. Not far away and easily accessible by bike along the Ems is the Salinenpark with the beautiful Bentlage Monastery.

Arrival
As the second largest city in the Münsterland region, Rheine is easy to reach by car and train. The Emsterrassen are located in the centre of Rheine.
Arriving by car
From the north, west and east via the A30 (Osnabrück - Amsterdam) with the Rheine and Rheine-Nord junctions.
From the south via the A31 to the Steinfurt exit and continue via the B54 towards Steinfurt. Then via the B70 in the direction of Rheine.
From the south via the A1 to the Greven exit and continue via the B481 towards Emsdetten/Rheine.
Arriving by train
Rheine is served by various IC and regional trains. There are train connections from Amsterdam, Cologne, Berlin, Krefeld and Emden, among others. There are also regular connections to Münster. It is only a few minutes' walk from the station to Rheine town centre.
Parking
There are several parking options for visitors in Rheine city centre. In the direct vicinity of the Emsterrassen is the "Heiliggeistplatz" car park.
