Tourist attractions – various Church

In the centre of the town of Ochtrup stands the neo-Gothic style St. Lambert's Church with its 73 metre high tower. The Catholic parish church belongs to the parish of St. Lambertus in the diocese of Münster. Its origins go back to the 13th century. Together with the church square, it forms the centre of Ochtrup's old town.

History information

The Negro-style church was built between 1866 and 1871 and has a 73-metre-high tower. Even today, St. Lamberti's Church still characterises the centre of Ochtrup with its appearance.

St. Lamberti's Church is considered an example of neo-Gothic architecture and is modelled on the Westphalian hall church of the late Gothic period of the 15th century. Several predecessor buildings already stood on the same site. When the present St. Lamberti Church was rebuilt, however, its orientation was turned around for reasons of space.
