Tourist attractions – various

The Beltman Building is one of the most imposing and best-known buildings in the city of Ochtrup and has shaped the cityscape since 1893. The castle-like, classicist Beltman Building was once the administrative building of the textile company Gebrüder Laurenz.

Today, the Beltman Building is part of the Designer Outlet Ochtrup (DOC).

History of the Beltman Building

The palace-like, classicist administration building dates from 1893 and is characterised by Renaissance style elements. The impressive Beltman Building in the "confectioner's style" was significantly influenced by the architects Dominikus Böhm and Hubertus Brower. Dominikus Böhm designed the magnificent entrance hall and Hubertus Brower the imposing "Apocalyptic Horseman" mosaic.

Today, the magnificent building is a landmark of the town of Ochtrup and is home to part of the Designer Outlet Ochtrup. The textile industry thus still plays a decisive role in the history of the Beltman building.
