Information for cyclists
Bocholt's location alone makes it a wonderful destination for cyclists. Small rivers such as the Issel or Bocholter Aa meander through the landscape and are surrounded by beautiful nature. Along the Bocholter Aa, a 58-kilometre cycle path leads from Velen via Rhede and Bocholt to Isselburg to great sights and through beautiful countryside. Imposing castles in Isselburg and Raesfeld are within easy reach and the Rhine and our Dutch neighbours are also not far away. The possibilities are manifold.
Numerous themed cycle routes offer interesting cycling tours through the Münsterland. The signposted themed cycle routes each show very special features of the region and thus tell exciting stories about Münsterland. The following routes run close to the Tourist Information Centre in Bocholt:
100 Castles Route, West Course
Hohe Mark Nature Park Route
The entrance to the Münsterland cycle route network, which is around 4,500 kilometres long, is directly in the city centre and offers numerous opportunities for great cycle tours in the region. At the tourist information office, cyclists can get personal tips and support for their upcoming cycling trip.
