Church

After the old parish church in the town burned down in 1797, the new St. Mary's Church was built at the end of the 19th century. Particularly worth seeing: the choir windows above the high altar.

After Lügde was fortified in the 13th century and St. Kilian's Church was therefore located outside the town walls, it was decided to build a church inside the town as well. A town church was built in the first half of the 13th century, which was demolished in 1894 due to dilapidation. The current St. Mary's Church was built on the same site with a neo-Gothic nave using older parts by the architect Lambert von Fisenne.
