Chapel Beddelhausen

Church

The Beddelhäuser chapel was first mentioned in a document in 1553. However, it is probably much older.

During renovation work in 1906, objects (relics and coins) from around 1300 were found in the stone altar.

Very striking are the incredibly thick walls. The windows are ogival. The hall is simply plastered with a slightly indented, straight closed choir. A groined vault was inserted into it. An ogival triumphal arch separates the choir from the nave.

The three-sided gallery was built in 1660.

A mighty ridge turret rises above the nave. A bronze bell from 1662 hangs in it, which sounds daily at the evening bell and during church services.

The Beddelhausen chapel belongs to the Lukas parish in the Eder and Elsoff valley.
