Museum/Exhibition

The Zwillbrock Biological Station looks after 37 protected areas in the Borken district with a total area of around 3200 hectares. There is a large visitor centre in Zwillbrock with a fascinating exhibition. Visitors embark on a journey of discovery through moorland, heathland, forest and grassland. Numerous information and interactive stations show the special features and background of the region's natural and cultural landscape.

The Zwillbrock Biological Station also organises guided tours, educational events and other activities.

Information for cyclists
The Zwillbrocker Venn, directly on the German-Dutch border, is a popular destination for excursions. Numerous sights and nature experiences can be discovered and experienced by bicycle on both the German and Dutch sides. Themed cycle routes also lead from the Zwillbrocker Venn to this special border region. The following cycle routes run alongside the Zwillbrock Biological Station:

Everyone can find their next cycling tour on the Münsterland cycle path network, which is around 4500 kilometres long.

There is a car park for visitors at the Biological Station in Zwillbrock.
Arrival
The Zwillbrocker Venn is located in the western Münsterland directly on the German-Dutch border. Zwillbrock is a district of Vreden about eleven kilometres from the city centre. The Biological Station is located in the immediate vicinity of the Zwillbrocker Venn.
Getting there by car:
Vreden can be reached by car via the B70 trunk road. The B70 offers connections to the A31 motorway (Emden - Oberhausen) via the B54 in the north or the B525 in the south.
Leave the B70 via the ring road in Vreden and then follow the Zwillbrocker Straße L608 to the Zwillbrocker Venn.
Travelling by bus and train:
The nearest German railway station is in Ahaus (railway line Dortmund - Enschede), about 15 kilometres away. Continue by bus S70/S71 to Vreden. Bus line S70/S71 also offers connections to Münster (main station).
On the Dutch side, the nearest station is in Winterswijk. Continue with bus R71 to Vreden.
A direct bus connection from Vreden to Zwillbrock is not regularly available. Continuing by bicycle is a good alternative.
