Information for cyclists
The flat landscape around Vreden is perfect for extended cycling tours. Cross-border cycle paths are waiting to be discovered and numerous sights, such as castles and palaces or museums, can easily be reached by bike. Arrival
Vreden is located in the western Münsterland directly on the German-Dutch border. The Old Town Hall is located directly on the market square, in the centre of Vreden.
Getting there by car:
Vreden can be reached by car via the B70 trunk road. The B70 offers connections to the A31 motorway (Emden - Oberhausen) via the B54 in the north or the B525 in the south.
Travelling by bus and train:
The nearest German railway station is in Ahaus (railway line Dortmund - Enschede), about 15 kilometres away. Continue by bus S70/S71 to Vreden. Bus line S70/S71 also offers connections to Münster (main station).
On the Dutch side, the nearest station is in Winterswijk. Continue with bus R71 to Vreden.
Parking
The old town hall is located on the market square in Vreden's town centre. There are no parking spaces directly at the building. The nearest public car park is on the nearby Kirchplatz.
