Windmill on the Höxberg

The windmill on the Höxberg has offered unique scenery since 1853.

In the middle of the flat landscape, the Höxberg rises to the south-east of the town of Beckum. At around 162 metres, it towers over the surrounding land and offers beautiful views of the Münsterland park landscape and the neighbouring Sauerland region. A windmill has stood on the southern slope of the mountain since 1853. The unique scenery is a popular excursion destination and photo motif. Around the mill there are numerous opportunities for long walks and short hikes.

Information for cyclists
Beckum, a town full of traditions. In the middle of the Münsterland park landscape, with significant influences of the industrial culture of the Ruhr area and in the direct vicinity of the Sauerland. Cyclists also experience this diversity in Beckum. The offers and possibilities are diverse and provide an exciting change between the regions.
Interesting content, beautiful routes off the beaten track and uniform signposting characterise the cycling theme routes in Münsterland. Various themed cycle routes also run along the windmill on the Höxberg:

The entrance to the approx. 4500 km long Münsterland cycle path network is located about 200 metres north of the windmill. From there you can enjoy beautiful cycling tours in the region. Everyone will find a suitable cycle route here.

The mill is open to visitors every third Saturday of the month (May to October) between 3 and 5 pm.
